Halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow, Falkirk rests in the industrial heartland of Scotland, a place embodied with grit and determination.  The town’s role is echoed in its surviving historic buildings and local folklore.  It is a unique place with a strong sense of belonging and community identity.

The distillery's historic site is bounded by the Antonine Wall, a Scheduled Ancient Monument and World Heritage Site. To the west of the distillery stands proud Mumrills Fort, a place where it is argued, the Battle of Falkirk took place.  The distillery's epic build complements these invaluable assets and, over time, is becoming recognised as a place of exceptional Lowland Malt.

The distillation process is a fine marriage between the old and the new; our two impressive Speyside copper stills and 4.5-tonne traditional copper mash tun have been married with our 34,000-litre fermenters, spirit-safe and state-of-the-art Buhler Malt intake.  A heady mixture of geography and age, with the finest raw ingredients kindly nurtured to produce the most ‘exceptional new make spirit’.

Falkirk Distillery - Bonded Warehouse

The bonded warehouse, which rests next to the distillery, is a traditional dunnage ageing warehouse made out of brick and with a low windowless structure. Each brick was hand-laid by a local masonry team and took over six months to construct.

In the warehouse, casks are laid across the ground and sit three high to help with even maturation as the spirit awakens. We now offer Warehouse Tasting Tours led by industry experts and tasting of spirit straight from the cask alongside some amazing old and rare drams.
